KARACHI: On Wednesday, 19th April 2017, Mr. Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh, Honorable Chief Justice High Court of Sindh distributed certificates among the District & Sessions Judges on completion of their training. Mr. Justice Irfan Saddat Senior Judge of High Court of Sindh was also attended the ceremony. Mr. Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, Director General, welcomed the Chief Justice Khilji in his welcome address highlighted on going activities and also presented road-map for justice vision 2017-2027 to meet the future challenges.
It was informed that the academy is in the process of setting up court annexed mediation centre after having consultation with the relevant stakeholders. Civil procedure Code needs to be updated and therefore academy has started working on it. Mr. Justice Khilji also shared that the academy has developed a database to access the case laws of High Court of Sindh and the academy shall prepare head-notes of the cases and would be available to the advocates, public and the judges. The cases shall also be available in the form of monthly digest to be known as Sindh Law Decisions (SLD) and electronic law journal.
Chief Justice inaugurated the SLD and appreciated the efforts of the Academy. One of the trainees namely Sadaf Khokar shared her views about the training program. She informed that the training program was mainly catering financial management and administration which is need of their next assignment.
Chief Justice distributed Certificates and Justice Khilji presented him traditional gift of ‘Ajrak’ and ‘Cap’. Chief Justice addressed the trainees and advised them to work hard and perform their duties with dedication as to meet the public expectation. District Judge’s role is not only to run his own court but at the same time manage the whole district and motivate judges working in his direct supervision to work hard by giving more time to old cases. He appreciated the efforts of the Justice Khilji and assured him for his full cooperation.
