“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”-Nelson Mandela
A convocation ceremony is a special day in the scholastic existence of understudies as following quite a while of diligent work and commitment, they get their well-deserved instruction degrees. Graduation makes it less demanding for the graduate to affirm his capabilities to managers autonomously. Graduation likewise gives confirmation of the graduate’s studies, which he may use for relocation purposes. The graduation function gives the graduate a chance to commend all the diligent work he set up into his concentrates together with his loved ones.
SZABIST is one of Pakistan’s well-known University and is soon having its convocation. A convocation ceremony is a special day in the academic life of students as after years of hard work and dedication, they get their hard earned education degrees. Wearing the traditional academic regalia and walking up the stage is the dream of every student in front of his colleagues, friends and family members who have supported them in their difficult endeavor. It is a defining moment in every student’s life giving his self-esteem a boost. Convocation is the most proud moment for a university because they are graduating their students and giving them the opportunity to explore the industry and brighten the name of their institute. Like every year SZABIST Convocation will have the presence of Bilawal, Asifa and Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari. But the sad news for the students is that they are restricted to not use their cellphones or cameras during the convocation. This news has built anger in the students and they have decided to boycott from the convocation. Convocation is the most important day for a student because he has spent 4 years of his life studying and wants to cherish the day when he is receiving his or her degree. Photographs are the main essence and memories a person can enjoy for the rest of his life and the convocation picture is hanged on the wall of a student. Students are taking the right decision to boycott because convocation shouldn’t be a secret affair. One of SZABIST Student showed his sadness and anger by posting on social media Facebook saying, “Today I’m actually sad, I’ve always respected this institution, but today is just a sad day. At my own graduation I will not be allowed to carry a phone, neither will my parents. I don’t think this is fair at all. After being here for 4 years, I’m being told I won’t be able to celebrate the day I graduate? And all this for a guest? Last year this happened and we faced the outrage of the parents that should have been enough! This year, this practice will be repeated and again our parents will be asked to leave their phones at home. Do they not deserve to take one picture of their kid graduating? Something should have been done about this. I for one, will not be attending graduation. Thank you for SZABIST for these 4 years. Happy to be gone.” SZABIST should take the action as soon as possible or else they won’t get to see any student on the convocation.
