PIA crew released after brief detention at London’s Heathrow Airport

LONDON– As many as thirteen officials of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) were detained by British police for interrogation at Heathrow Airport over alleged security threats.

PIA Spokesman Mashhood Tajwar told that the crew members of PIA flight number PK-758, coming from Islamabad, were arrested at London Airport on secret information but they were released and sent back to the hotel withholding their passports.

Meanwhile, a search operation was also conducted in the plane for over two hours after which it was cleared for takeoff from Heathrow Airport with substituted staffers as nothing suspicious was found.
